Taylor Made Monaco Putter Review

The Taylor Made Monaco putter is part of the company’s TP by Kia Ma series, which means one thing is certain – nobody else in your foursome will have a better-looking club. It’s hard to find one that produces better results either.

It’s milled from soft carbon steel and has tungsten micro weights that are located behind the heel and toe of the clubhead that move the center of gravity low and deep to increase feel and stability. It has a plumber’s neck hosel with a full shaft offset, which should please golfers who like the clear look at the ball that that setup provides, and the clubhead weighs a satisfying 345 grams.

The technical specs: The Taylor Made Monaco comes with a standard lie angle of 70 degrees, and it can be customized two degrees either way. It comes in 34 and 35 inch lengths.

But enough about how the club performs. There’s no sleeker club available, and its design makes it impressive enough to be hung on the mantle as art when it isn’t being used on the course. It’s got a black finish that’s glossy on the sole and then transitions in brightness until it becomes matted on the crown, reducing the glare. The striping adds to the effect, and after a made 35-footer it will be tempting to towel the grip dry before replacing it the bag, lest its fiery looks cause third-degree burns.

At $299, it’s not the cheapest putter on the market. But it’s definitely one of the best.
