Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport Putter Review
The latest version of the Newport line of putters is the Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport, a club that takes a Cameron classic design and tweaks it to make it fall more in line with the current course and marketplace trends.
Like most other recent Scotty Cameron putters, the Studio Select Newport is constructed of stainless steel, rather than simply using a steel insert as in the past. Weights have been placed in the heel and toe of the club, and can be customized by the company to suit individual preferences.
A milled sight dot or sight line can be added to the club, though neither comes standard. Adjustments can also be made to the club length (33, 34 or 35 inches), loft (71 degrees is standard, but it can be altered plus or minus two degrees) and grip (with multiple options to choose from).
Also typical of this series is the Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport’s high toe setup. This is designed to help square the putter to the target, avoiding miss-hits. Given the club’s superior balance and the emphasis on giving each user their ideal configuration for success, the Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport is justifiably one of the market leaders for top-of-the-line putters.
