Ping Redwood D66 Putter Review
When Ping manufactured its Redwood series of putters, to which the Ping Redwood D66 belongs, the company broke the mold. Literally.
Ping has always been a design leader, and its clubheads have been the model that other companies have followed. In fact, the Redwood series plays homage to that tradition, as it takes its name from the garage where the first Ping putter was born: Redwood City, California. But until this series, Ping had never gone with the precision-milled stainless steel clubhead that its rivals had brought into the game.
Now, it has. And the Ping Redwood D66 putter is a boon to fans of mallet-style putters looking for the Ping reliability to go with the new design. The 303 stainless steel is denser than the cast steel Ping has used for other models, leading to a heavier clubhead (343 grams) that stays stable through impact.
