Ping iWi Anser Putter
The Ping iWi Anser putter takes advantage of a system of interchangeable weights to offer a club that can be easily customized to suit a golfer’s need on any particular day, even in the middle of a round.
The clubhead weight for the Ping iWi Anser is 345 grams, on the light side of the iWi putter series (the iWi Craz-E is the heaviest at 370 grams). Two removable 12-gram steel inserts come standard, and an optional weight kit can be purchased that offers two 20 and 28-gram weights that can be inserted in their place with the provided wrench. That’s a big asset for those who want a heavier putter, or for those who find that they need extra heft on a particular day to keep the clubhead straight.
A two-piece insert encases a stainless steel in an elastomer to add a softer feel. But aside from all the technology, the club looks like the classic Pings of old. It has the popular plumbers-neck hosel and a heel-toe balance that help golfers get a good look at the ball and balance the club through impact, and it performs like anyone would expect from the company that’s been one of the biggest names in golf for the past 50 years.
