Ping i-Series Craz-E Putter Review

The only things crazy about the Ping i-Series Craz-E putter are the club’s name and how easy it is to hit.

Ping’s i-Series was designed to be the ideal combination of feel and weighting, and it does so by using a two-piece insert that creates a firm stroke with a soft feel. The clubhead weighs it at a hefty 390 grams, and as a face-balanced club it’s easy for most to handle. It doesn’t have the customizable weights of other Ping models, but it is balanced enough that it’s hard to see where those could add much.

One key feature that the i-Series Craz-E has is the raised alignment aid. Sole inserts push weight to the perimeter, giving it a higher MOI, and that design also makes the back of the putter level with the top line. It’s hard to describe how easy that makes it to line up putts, but it just takes a couple of tries on the putting green to see the difference.

The name might cause a snicker or two from foursomes unfamiliar with the brand name, but whoever uses the Ping i-Series Craz-E putter will be the ones laughing after the round.
